The addiction to technology has been useful but also has affected human brains to a great extent.
More distracted and shorter attention spans
Before the existence of iPhones, iPad, or any other technological device, an average person had 12 seconds as an attention span. At this point, a person has an attention span of only 8 seconds. Well, you will be surprised to know that a goldfish has an attention span of 9 seconds. With all the distractions, it has been not easy to concentrate on the task. Sometimes it is because of the message alert light on your phone, or new trends that you are following or a viral message. All this has impacted to shorter attention span and more distractions.
You can’t sleep
The addiction to technology has lead to sleepless nights. People are now more accustomed to falling asleep with your smartphone glowing softly by their bed. Others might end up with laptops or iPhones. According to neuroscience, it has been suspected that the glowing light emitted from the smartphone, laptops, mess with the sleep-inducing hormones because of which you are not able to sleep properly. Your eyes have now become sensitive to the alert light of your smartphone. It makes it difficult for you to fall asleep, especially for those who have insomnia.
Due to the addiction to technology, people have become more addicted to tech. You stop your work to check your phone, which leads to losing a lot of time. People feel an individual gratification while looking at the messages or notifications because of which you can see people spending hours scrolling social media pages. Some people also spent hours playing video games or watching videos. Technology has made everyone so addicted that people hardly have time to play or even go for a walk.
While it seems to be quite good, but at times, it can also get you in trouble or even lead to an accident. With the addiction to technology, most of them have been able to do multitasking like texting; you are also continuing your work, watching a movie while texting, etc. At times, when you are walking, you tend to reply to a message. In this instance, if you are not careful, it can lead to an accident. Many might also think that by doing this, you are increasing your efficiency, but the fact is you are reducing the ability of your brain. You make it difficult for the brain to retain the information.
Less face-to-face interaction

With this, you can say that people are now more interested in social media instead of enjoying their real life. They also tend to miss out on a lot of things.
Technology also has a lot of benefits. It all depends on an individual whether they are interested in the benefits or the adverse effects. Performing yoga and meditation for at least 30 minutes can also help you a lot.
